Introduction

Iray Blend can be used to utilize two different render modes for two phases of the rendering:

• The preview rendering which is used during navigation and interactive editing
• The refinement phase which is used when generating a high quality image

Iray Blend is done in a way to do this as automated as possible.

After setting up the options for the render mode, it is used like any other renderer and it will detect changes to the scene - including but not limited to changing the camera - automatically and switch and blend between the two render modes automatically as required.

The used render modes for the preview and refinement phases can be selected freely from the available render modes. Iray Blend may utilize different scene options for the two phases, thus even making it possible to use the same render mode but different options for preview and refinement to have faster previews but high quality image for the resulting final image.
